Municipal Waste Disposal Tips

Below are tips from the Elk Township DPW with regards to the disposal of household trash.
  • Paints

    Latex (also called "water based") paint can disposed of with your regular household trash.  Click here, to open up a document that will explain how to properly prepare latex paint for the trash. 

    Please note:  Gloucester County Hazardous Waste Collection Days will no longer be accepting latex paint at their events but they will still accept Oil based paint. 
  •  Household Medications

    The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has issued guidelines for the proper disposal of household medication.  Click here, to open up those guidelines.
  •  Disposal of Syringes
