Mayor, Mr. Phil Barbaro


Phil Barbaro has been an Elk Township resident for over 30 years. He is a graduate of Aura School and Delsea Regional HS. He has a B.S. degree from Glassboro State College (Rowan University). He is a local business man (Aura Badge Co.), past Elk Little League President, and current volunteer coach for basketball and soccer.  He was elected to the Elk Twp. Committee in Nov. of 2005; has served as Deputy Mayor in 2006, and is currently serving as Mayor.

Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Carolyn King Sammons


Carolyn King Sammons is a member of the Recreation Committee.  She and her husband Jonathan have lived in Elk Township for 15 years with their daughters,  Samantha and Andrea.

 

She owns Dominion Title Services in Bridgeton, is a member of the Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce and chairs the Government and Community Relations Board.  She serves on the board of the Annual Art of Two Pallets fundraising event for Elwyn New Jersey in Vineland. She also serves on the steering committee for the Cohansey RiverFest.

 

She graduated from Williamstown High School  ‘79 and attended Gloucester County College.   She is a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Clayton.

 

 

Committeeperson, Ed Poisker

Ed Poisker has been a resident of Elk Township for nearly 40 years.  He is happily married to Colleen and has two wonderful children, Abby and Colin.  He is a graduate of Aura Elementary School, Delsea Regional High School and Drexel University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He served in the United States Navy and is a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm.  Ed is currently an owner and operator of Worldwide Glass Resources Inc., a glass vial manufacturer in Norma NJ.  Ed was the past Elk Township Soccer Club president and soccer coach and current volunteer baseball coach for Elk Township Little League.  He was elected to Elk Township Committee in November 2012. 


Committeeperson, Mr. Patrick Spring


Patrick Spring has lived in Elk Township for 8 years.  He is married to Mary, has two daughters Kerri and Rachel, and a step-son Steven.   Additionally, Patrick has 7 grandchildren. Pat attended Paulsboro High School and graduated from Salem Community College with a degree in Technical Studies. Pat is a member of the Ferrell Fire Department and has held the positions of Chief and Deputy Chief.  Patrick has 30 years experience in public safety, has a Fire Official License, and is a Level 2 Fire Instructor.  Currently, Patrick is employed at Gloucester County Utilities Authority.
