The Zoning Administrative Officer handles the following for Elk Township:

•  Administer and enforce local ordinances

•  Represent the municipality in land use matters to county, regional, state or federal agencies as required

•  Reviews zoning permit applications

•  Investigates, performs on-site inspections and administers enforcement activities of violations of the township codes, specifically, land development and zoning

•  Confers with and advises the public, municipal officials and others in aspects of planning and zoning

•  Reviews development applications submitted to either the Planning Board or Zoning Board of Adjustment

•  Attends Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment meetings and other meetings/seminars as required

•  Reviews the Township master plan, land development ordinances and other associated ordinances, policies and procedures and make recommendations to the Governing Body, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment
