Zoning Office:
Zoning regulates land use by designating districts – such as residential and commercial – where specific uses are permitted and others prohibited. Each residential Zoning District has requirements for Building & Lot Coverage, set-backs, and number of accessory structures. The Zoning Officer is here to assist residents who are considering making improvements and/or changes to their property.
An approved Zoning Permit is required prior to the commencement of a use or the construction, reconstruction, alteration, conversion, or installation of a sign, structure or a building.
The following is a partial list of items that require zoning approval. (check with the Zoning Officer for items not listed) : building homes, additions, garages, carports, decks, fences, pools, patios & sheds . Solar panels also require Zoning approval . Applicants must provide a property survey and complete a Zoning Permit Application form. After review and approval from the Zoning Officer, applicants are required to apply with the Construction Department for building permits, if necessary. *Please note structures over 600 square feet will require Grading Plan approval and Final As-Built Plans.
